Corona Virus Confinement : Parents Derive Strategies to Keep Children Busy

Ever since schools were forcefully shutdown on the 17 of March as a means to curb the spread of the COVID 19, parents have not been having it easy to cope with their children at home.
Unlike during the holidays when children could play around the neighborhood with friends or visit family members, the situation now is different. Children have to stay indoors and limit movement in order not to get in contact with the corona virus. With the present situation, most parents have derived strategies to keep the children busy while indoors. Talking to some parents they disclosed that it has not been a difficult task. “I did not plan to have the children at home at this point in time. During holidays I usually engage them in different activities and most often they go out and play with friends, but with the corona virus that is spreading like wild fire, they can’t step out of the house”, disclosed Mr Kolle.
He said at the moment, he makes sure that he gives the children assignment daily (so as to keep up with their school work) before he lives the house. “I also give them household whole chores so as to keep them busy.
