National Judo Championship : Panthers Yaounde Tops Charts

The club bagged home 14 medals during the launch of the 2022 judo season in Edea in the Sanaga Maritime Division last weekend.
It was an exciting weekend for lovers of judo in the country in Edea. The 2022 judo season in Cameroon kicked off in Edea in the Sanaga Maritime Division. Organised by the Cameroon Judo Federation (FECAJUDO), the competition brought together 170 athletes from 29 judo clubs in the country. The competition unfolded in the cadets, junior, senior men and women’s categories. It was an opportunity for the inhabitants of Edea and its environs to discover new techniques in the sport and also for young aspiring athletes to develop interest in judo. After two days of intense competition, Panthers Judo Club of Yaounde emerged overall winners with 14 medals; six gold, three silver and five in bronze.
In the women’s -48kg category Mpemese Cindy Grace (Happi Sport Judo) won gold. In -52kg Baba Matia Marie Celine (Panthers) won gold. In the -57kg Nkou Mballa Jeanne Louise (PTH) won gold. In the -70kg Biami Zita Ornela (PTH) won gold. In the +78kg Gouinwo Kamsu Gwladys Marcelle (MFC) won gold. In the -78kg Djeungue Moune, Wesly Georgika (EJC) won gold. In the men’s -90kg Ombiongno Stephane Jordan (EJC) was the winner. In the -81kg Kong Roland Simplice (PTH) won gold. In the -100kg Njimolouh Seidou (FAP) won old. In the +100kg Mepoui Anong Daniel (PTH) was the strongest.
