United Nation Development Programme : CPD Evaluated

For three days members evaluated the Country Programme Documents for Cameroon.
Stakeholders in the evaluation chain of the Country Programme Documents (CPD) have ended their three day meeting in Douala which was aimed at examining the work done so far and what is left to be done as far as the Cameroon –UNDP cooperation programme for the period 2018-2021 is concerned. The Programme that ended on the 31st December 2020. Initially planned to end in December 2020, was extended by one year due to the Covid 19 outbreak.
From March 1-3 the stake holders reviewed the main achievements of the different programmes components as well as the main changes obtained as a result of the intervention during the 2018-2021 cycle. They also analyze the extent to which cross cutting issues like gender human rights have been addressed in the programme implementation. It was also time for members to present the 2022-2026 CPD and its different strategic components and more.
During the meeting in Douala the Deputy Resident Representative for the UNDP, Alassane Ba, explained that the Cameroon Government and other partners have been able to mobilize and invest about CFA 51 billion in the development process of Cameroon. He thanked the government as the programme has created 7.200 jobs for women and youths, created water points and many more. One of the beneficiary is the Douala IV municipality, where the deputy Mayor Ibrahim Fakoue appreciated the programme, especially in the support to the internally displaced persons as a result of the ongoing crisis in the North West and South west region.
