Easter and Holy Week : Preparation Heightens

Confessions of sins, fasting, prayers and preparation towards the baptism of those putting their faith on Christ have turned immersive during these last days.
Hundreds of churches across Douala will celebrate Easter on Sunday. On Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after His death on a cross of His crucifixion over two thousand years ago on Mount Calvary in Jerusalem. Easter also marks the end of the 40-day period of penance called Lent especially by Catholics.
Various activities to prepare for the feast have heightened; especially tailoring workshops, body and foot wear shops which have become most visited by Christians. This is common among Catholic Christians who will be holding baptismal ceremonies in their congregations. It is not unusual that Catholics should organise the ritual of baptism by aspersion on Saturday and both new and old Christians will partake in the Holy Communion during a mass on Sunday. During the on-going Lent, “The Gloria” is not sung but will be song again on Saturday and Sunday, which marks the end of Lent.
Emiliana Kimbi is a Christian fellowshipping with the Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Anatol in New Bell: “I attend all prayers for the Station of the Cross at 5am and preparing my heart and life through confessions and other things to receive Holy Communion on Sunday, which will be Easter. Confessions in preparation for the Easter Sunday’s Last Supper meal started last week and continues this week.” Like her, other Christians attend the 5am or 5pm prayer session which is followed by an hour of service unto the Lord Jesus Christ.”
