MTN Elite One : Union Holds Astres Douala

Union Sportive of Douala held Astres Fc of Douala to a goaless draw during a day nine match of the MTN Elite One championship that took place at the Yaounde Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium on Saturday April 23, 2022. Prior to the encounter, hundreds of supporters from Yaounde and Douala thronged the venue to watch their teams play. It was a grueling encounter that kept fans on their feet cheering the players. Union Douala began the game well with a good play style, creating panic in their opponents’ camp. But they squandered their scoring opportunities. Astres Douala equally fought back and made some attempts at goal but they missed the target. Even though the two teams up an impressive game no side was able to break the deadlock. Both teams separated at half time put on a 0-0 score margin. 
On resumption, Astres Douala came up stronger with a more vibrant attack but they failed to concretize their efforts.  Despite several attempts to score they found it hard to break through the defence wall of Union Douala.
