Rugby Sevens Unity Tournament : Red Dragons RC Are Winners

The Sports Complex of College Stoll in Akono in the Mefou and Akono Division was the venue of the third edition of the Rugby Sevens National Unity Tournament on Saturday May 21, 2022. Organised by the Cameroon Rugby Federation (FECARUGBY), the competition brought together 16 teams (12 men and four women) from Yaounde and Douala. The competition was part of activities of the FECARUGBY to mark May 20 celebrations in Cameroon. The players competed in a round robin tournament in the men and women’s categories. 
In the men’s final, Red Dragons Rugby Club of Douala outplayed AS Ecole Rugby Club of Yaounde 17-14 in a thrilling encounter. The public watched with enthusiasm young Cameroonians display rich talents in rugby. The team from the Littoral Region turned out to be the best, winning all their matches. In the women’s final, Red Dragons Rugby Club of Douala beat Bebga Academy Rugby Club of Yaounde 12-10. In the group stage Red Dragons beat Nfon Academy Rugby Club of Yaounde 21-0, Bebga Academy beat Atoua Koumou RC of Zoetele 21-0 and Bebga Academy beat Nfon Academy 22-0.
