Elite One : AS Fortuna Stops Astres

AS Fortuna of Mfou has moved a step ahead in the Elite One championship after they thrashed Astres of Douala 3-0 in a day 19 match in group A at the Ngoa-Ekelle Stadium in Yaounde yesterday June 14, 2022. Fans from both teams thronged the stadium in order to watch the game. It was a thrilling encounter that kept supporters on their feet shouting at the top of their voices as they cheered the teams. 
AS Fortuna began dominating the game with a good play style that paid off paid off as they opened scores at the 12th minute through Bin Adolf Nkembe Enow Nasir. Fortuna had great control of the game, but they squandered several opportunities. Thanks to good ball control and swift passes AS Fortuna increased scores at the 18th minute through Severin Onana and a third goal at the 25th minute by Bin Adolf Nkembe Enow. Astres Douala on their part had some good chances, but they failed to concretise them. Many fans could not believe their eyes as the team did not produce the expected results. At half time the score line was 3-0 in favour of AS Fortuna. 
On resumption, AS Fortuna continued with their onslaughts, putting pressure on Astres of Douala. Astres however put up a strong resistance in the defence line warding off many attempts by AS Fortuna. Replacements made by the coach of Astres, Anicet Mbarga Foe, did not help much as the situation remained the same. Fortuna pressed on but they lost several opportunities.
