Meet “Titrit”, WAFCON’s Mascot

“Titrit” is the official mascot of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2022. She is a lioness, a reference to Morocco’s Atlas Lions/Lionesses, an undeniable symbol of power and courage. According to the Confederation of the African Football (CAF), Titrit is a Moroccan Berber name which means “star" or “celebrity" and which characterizes a proud, dignified, rigorous and determined person.  Just like a star, she will light up the competition and give an additional spice that will keep football lovers spellbound.
Talking of her attire, she is dressed in the colours of the Moroccan national team, red and green. Inscribed on her red jersey is “Morocco 2022”.  Her head is peculiarly adorned with a traditional Moroccan jewel in the form of a tiara.
