Athletics : Youth Championship Kicks Off

The process for the detection of young talents is ongoing at the Cameroon Athletics Federation. It is in this light that the first playing day of the 2022 national youth athletics championship took place at the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium on Saturday November 19, 2022. Organised by the Cameroon Athletics Federation (FECAATHLETICS), the competition brought together 251 athletes from three regions of the country. These are Littoral, South and Centre regions. The athletes aged between eight and 15 years competed in several disciplines in the track and field. The track events included the 80m, 100m and 800m. The field events were long jump, high jump and shot put. 
The Secretary General of FECAATHLETICS, Charles Kouoh Koteh expressed satisfaction with the performances of the young talents.  He explained the competition is an ongoing process of the athletics federation for the detection of future talents throughout the national territory.
