Grant Wahl : Tributes To Fallen Journalist

The football world has been paying tribute to American journalist, Grant Wahl who died last Friday while covering the quarterfinal fixture between Netherlands and Argentina at the Lusail Iconic Stadium. According to the World Cup organising committee, he collapsed in the course of the game and was first given medical attention before he was taken to the hospital. “He received immediate emergency medical treatment on site, which continued as he was transferred by ambulance to Hamad General Hospital,” the World Cup organising committee said in a statement, which did not list a cause of death. “We are in touch with the US Embassy and relevant local authorities to ensure the process of repatriating the body is in accordance with the family’s wishes.” 
FIFA President, Gianni Infantino expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the departed journalist. “On behalf of FIFA and the football community, we express our sincerest condolences to his wife Céline, his family, and his friends at this most difficult time," Infantino said in a statement.
