The Mena of Niger have qualified for the semi-finals of the TotalEnergies African Nations championship (CHAN 2022) in Algeria. They picked their qualification ticket on Saturday January 28, 2023 after beating the Black Galaxies of Ghana 2-0 in the quarterfinals at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran. It was a thrilling encounter that kept fans alert cheering their teams. Fans in Algeria were waiting anxiously to see which side will face the Desert Foxes of Algeria in the semifinals.
Niger began well with a good play style, threatening their opponents right from the first minutes of the game. Ghana equally fought hard, had some chances but failed to conretise them. Niger pressed on and had an opportunity when midfielder, Konadu Yiadom, scored an own goal at the 11th minute which put Niger ahead of the Black Galaxies. That served as a booster for the Niger players who were now seeking to increase their goal tally in order to stay in a comfortable position. Ghana continued with their fight in the attack and had a chance at the 30th minute but lost it. The teams separated at half time on a 1-0 margin in favour of Niger.
