Basketball, Handball, Volleyball : Yaounde I On The Spotlight

The University of Yaounde I continues to demonstrate their superiority in the ongoing University Games in Ngaoundere by making significant progress in several collective sports. In basketball, handball and volleyball yesterday, May 4, 2023 the University won four out of the six semifinals played in both the women’s and men’s categories to sail to the finals that will played today May 5, 2023.
In Handball women, the final fixture pits the University of Yaounde I against their Yaounde II peers. The game promises to be very competitive looking at the parcour of both teams. The University of Yaounde I booked its place in the final by beating the Siantou University Institute 32-19. The huge point difference tells of the proficiency of the Yaounde I team’s members. Their capacities to score and defend were admirable. The score is thus reflective of the strength of both sides. The University of Yaounde II on its part sailed to the final after overpowering the University of Bertoua 30-17. The Yaounde II girls had a lot of ease in putting the ball at the back of the net. 
In the men’s category, Yaounde I plays the final against the Siantou University Institute. The Yaounde boys booked their place in the final by beating the University of Dschang 34-17.
