CAF Interclub Competitions Licensing : Coton Sport Passes, Bamboutos Fails

This is according to two separate decisions of FECAFOOT’s Club licensing committee dated June 23 and 27, 2023
Coton Sport of Garoua, 2022- 2023 Champions of Came roon, will represent the na tion in the next edition of- - the CAF Champions League. Everything being equal, Bamboutos of Mbouda, runners up of the 2022 Cup of Cameroon after being beaten by Coton Sport of Garoua in the final, were expected to represent Cameroon in the CAF Confederations Cup. But to take part in these competitions, these clubs need CAF Club Licenses. And to have these licenses, the clubs have to meet up with CAF Men’s Club Licensing Regulations. It is against this backdrop that the Cameroon Football Federation’s Licensing Committee, took two crucial decisions on June 23 and 27, 2023 taking into consideration the improvements made to the Club Licensing Criteria. According to the Commission, Coton Sport of Garoua are in order. The club was accorded the CAF Club licensing after meeting up with the exigencies of the Confederation. It should be said that before now, what was evidently lacking for Coton Sport was a female team. The confederation had recently insisted that all clubs wishing to take part in the competition as from next season, must have female teams. News recently made waves on social media that all is set for Coton Sport Ladies to come to life. Meanwhile, the club has signed an affiliation contract with Lion du Sahel FA, a North Regional female football team, to meet up with the CAF exigencies. The Commission denied Bambout...
