South Africa, Nigeria, Zambia and Morocco confirmed their places in round four to continue their supremacy of African women’s football.
The four teams that will play the fourth and final round of the Women’s Olympic qualifiers are now known. South Africa, Nigeria, Zambia and Morocco secured their spots in the fourth round to determine Africa’s representatives at women’s football tournament for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. The qualified teams are familiar names and will be vying for two spots. South Africa, Nigeria, Zambia and Morocco confirmed their places to continue their dominance of African women’s football. Each of these nations previously represented the continent at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
As for Morocco and South Africa, it was rather routine and straightforward. To no one's surprise, South Africa edged out Tanzania. Banyana Banyana have qualified for the fourth and final round of qualifying for the 2024 Olympic Football Tournament. After their 3-0 win in the first leg, they won 1-0 at home on Tuesday February 27, 2024. South Africa advance 4-0 on aggregate. The Atlas Lions of Morocco dominated Tunisia with four first half goals in 11 minutes to win 4-1 at home and complete a 6-2 aggregate victory on Wednesday February 28, 202’.
