Japanese Culture : Tokyo Foundation Donates Books

The books were handed over by the Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Cameroon yesterday March 21, to a Japanese Language Training Centre.
On the occasion of its second anniversary, the Japanese Language Institute Cameroon (JLIC) located at the Simbock neighbourhood in Yaounde yesterday March 21, 2024, received a special consignment of didactic material from the Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research. The donation, mostly books, were handed over to the Director of the institution by the Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Cameroon, Shun Aoki.
During the solemn ceremony, Shun Aoki said the over 80 books, mostly in the English Language, are meant to enable students in the institution have in-depth information about the culture, politics and foreign policy of the Great Republic of Japan. He also noted that the books will permit the readers to widen their knowledge and make constructive arguments about the country Japan. The books donated covers various fields such as politics and international relations, economy and business, science and technology, arts, culture and literature.
The Director of JLIC, Durand Kouedeu Mbiawa said the objective of the school is to contribute significantly to the scientific, technological, social, cultural and economic development of the country through the transfer of skills between Cameroonian and Japanese universities.
