Celebration of Cultures : High Commission In Canada Exhibits Country’s Beauty

It was an event for visitors to have a glimpse of the cultural heritage of the country known as “Africa in miniature.”
The Cameroon High Commission in Ottawa has valiantly displayed the beauty of the country during a cultural day in Canada. This was during the event dubbed “celebration of culture”, which took place last Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the Algonquin College (University), Ottawa (Canada). The event brought together more than fifteen Embassies, High Commissions and organisations with the aim of showcasing cultures and traditions from various countries around the world. Cameroon’s High Commission was represented at the event by the Cultural Counsellor, Professor Athanasius Ayuk and the Cultural Attaché, Lydie Bokally.
Cameroon’s High Commission presented to the thousands of visitors present some of the country’s major cultural heritage. On display were crafts from various regions of the country, different cultural fabrics, and various regional dishes among other things. On hand was also a virtual presentation of various touristic sites in the country such as the Limbe and Kribi beaches, the Waza Park, Dja and Korup reserves; the Lobe, Ekom and Menchum waterfalls and the Limbe and Mvog Betsi zoos and the various animals therein. Visitors at the Cameroonian stand enjoyed local dishes such as Jollof rice, puff-puff and beans. flyers containing information on Cameroon were distributed to the numerous guests who visited the stand.
The event saw the participation of numerous Cameroonian students who happily united with the High Commission team to speak proudly of their country and what it has to offer. According to Prof Athan...
