Holiday Activities : Children Receive Certificates

This was after undergoing a month-long holiday transformation programme at the Pilot Incubation Centre in Bwadibo.

Some 41 children who underwent training at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mines and Crafts Pilot Incubation Centre in Bwadibo, on Thursday 22 August, received their certificates after one month of training. The training, which was part of the “Holiday Transformation Programme”, aimed to train youths in holiday in agricultural production and agricultural transformation processes. For one month, the children were trained in the production of cassava flour, natural juice production, production of different types of food from cassava flour and more.
For the Chief Executive Director of the Pilot Incubation Centre in Bwadibo, Mr. Yves Tefack, the month-long period was a transformative one as the children were trained in different areas of agriculture. He said they were out to make their own contribution to ensuring sustainable agriculture and the fight against hunger. For him, the children also gained skills in entrepreneurship and civic education.
For his part, the President of CCIMA, Honourable Christophe Eken, said that it was important to start imparting knowledge and skills in agriculture and entrepreneurship to children at an early age, as agriculture is the backbone of the Cameroonian economy.
