MTN Elite Two : ISOHSA Stumbles Again

Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) of Limbe suffered their second consecutive defeat in the MTN Elite Two Championship, falling 0-3 to AS FAP of Yaounde at the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo. This defeat on Match-day 7, after that of match day 6 against Union Abong Mbang proved a significant blow to ISOHSA, who had shown promise in the early stages of the league. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to find the back of the net against a resolute AS FAP defense. A series of avoidable errors compounded their woes, ultimately leading to the three-goal margin.
The opening goal arrived early, with Noel Rodrigue Tjahe breaking the deadlock for AS FAP in the 12th minute. ISOHSA struggled to equalize throughout the first half, despite showing more organisation after the break. While they injected more energy into their attack with a series of substitutions, they lacked the cutting edge to convert their chances.
AS FAP capitalized on ISOHSA’s defensive lapses, doubling their lead through Robert Bertrand Essengue in the 87th minute. Igor Marius Assoumou added a third goal in stoppage time to seal the victory for the Yaounde outfit. This result propelled AS FAP to 11 points, one point ahead of ISOHSA on 10 points in the league standings.
