North West : EU Ambassadors Discuss, Appreciate Projects

A delegation of heads of diplomatic missions from some European Union member countries paid a working visit to Bamenda on February 27, 2025.

The Ambassadors of Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy as well as the Ambassador, Head of the European Union Delegation to Cameroon now better understand the situation and state-of-affairs in the North West Region and also the impact of projects funded by their countries.  They paid a working visit to the North West Regional capital Bamenda on February 27, 2025. Led by the Ambassador, Head of the European Union Delegation to Cameroon, Jean-Marc Chataigner the European diplomats probably had first-hand information on the security and development situation in the North West Region. On arrival in Bamenda, they had in-camera discussions with North West Regional Governor, Adolphe Lele Lafrique.  They also had close door discussions with the Commander of the Joint 5th Military Region, Brigadier General Bouba Dobekreo. They continued sharing and getting more information about the region during a lunch that brought together the Governor, President of the North West Regional Executive Council, Professor Fru Angwafo III and the Public Independent Conciliator for the North West Region Tamfu Simon Fai.
On the field, the Ambassadors expressed satisfaction with cooperation projects. At the fashion design company, ETS Leicky specialized in recycling and transformong plastic waste into decoration and fashion objects, the Ambassador of France to Cameroon, Thierry Marchand expressed satisfaction. The project is funded by the French Embassy in Cameroon.
