International Civil Aviation Organisation : Cameroon’s Pivotal Role Appreciated

The Secretary General of the organisation, Juan Carlos Salazar was received by the Minister Delegate in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu on March 3, 2025.

Contributions made by Cameroon towards the growth of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, both at the continental and global levels have been appreciated by the Secretary General of the institution, Juan Carlos Salazar. The Secretary General is in Cameroon for the International Civil Aviation Organisation-ICAO Facilitation Regional Forum hosted by Cameroon on March 3-4, 2025 on the theme, “Seamless Skies: Efficient Facilitation for a Connected World.” It is on the sidelines of the regional conference that Juan Carlos Salazar was granted an audience by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu on March 3, 2025, where the former made the remark. 
Going by his declaration, Cameroon uses its strategic geographical position and adapted technologies to promote not only the activities of the Organisation, but to also ensure the safe travel of persons and goods within the air transport system. “We had the opportunity to discuss the important role that Cameroon plays as a member of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, especially in the promotion of international treaties including the 1944 Convention which we will be celebrating the 80th anniversary. We discussed about the importance of Cameroon as a member of the Single Africa Transport Market and the promotion of the air transport modernisation on the African continent,” the Scribe of the institution stated.
