Upcoming Presidential, Regional Elections : Senate Implores Matured Behaviour

Undoubtedly, this is an electoral year for Cameroon. The Presidential and Regional elections will be organised by the end of this year. Ahead of the elections, the eldest member of the Senate, President of the Provisional Bureau, Senator Rene Ze Nguele while chairing the opening plenary of the March session of Parliament in march 11, 2025, called on responsibility on the part of all stakeholders in the electoral process.  “In effect, 2025 will experience the Presidential election and the election of Regional Councils in our country. This particular context imposes the sense of vigilance, as the stakes oblige us to maintain the spirit of oneness and the necessity of promoting peace and living together in our beloved country. If it is normal for ambitions to be expressed in a democracy, it is also normal to respect the values of peace and tolerance,” Senator René Ze Nguele stated. To this effect, he congratulated government for the different measures already being put in place to ensure that the maximum number of Cameroonians participate in upcoming elections. 
In the same vein, the law maker condemned the recent attack on Cameroonian officials by some youths in Brussels, Belgium. “This is the place to firmly condemn the actions of incivility that recently took place in Brussels. Violence, it should be stated, is a default of intelligence. Meanwhile, our country Cameroon, it should be recalled is a democratic State with the rule of law. Justice is obtained through the right channels and political choices, which is done through the ballot box,” he added.
