Contracts Opportunities Presented to SMEs

This was during an event presided over by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts who was in Douala yesterday.
The Douala City Council (DCC) has presented its many subcontracting opportunities to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Cameroon.
They presented a list of various projects yet to be awarded as contracts to some SMEs selected by the Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange of Cameroon (SPX-Cameroon) within its “Supplier Day” activity that held at the Douala Bano Palace on November 10, 2022.
The Day is an initiative of SPX-Cameroon that seeks to connect big companies and SMEs. It's a matchmaking event through which SPX-Cameroon contacts a big local company, gets a list of projects it has in the pipeline and identifies from its database the SMEs likely to execute the contracts in question. It suggests to the big company they organise a day for contract negotiation with local SMEs identified as likely to execute the contract.
In his opening speech, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts, Joseph Tchana, said the Day was to allow the SMEs that were considered likely to execute the DCC projects to know more about DCC, to better understand the normative framework which regulates the contracts in this institution, and to draw inspiration from it. He said local SMEs benefit from the support of many structures created by government, like the SPX-Cameroon which are sufficiently equipped, qualified and competent to respond to any type of request.
