Judo : Yaounde I Varsity Champion

Yesterday May 2, 2023 marked the end of the judo competition at the ongoing University Games in Ngaoundere.  The University of Yaounde I would be proud of the work done in this discipline. They finished first on the standings with five gold medals, two sliver and four bronze. The competition went on for three days starting April 30, 2023 and all the universities enrolled came in with the determination to win as many medals as possible. But the University of Yaounde I athletes defied almost every opponent on their way to occupy the top seat. The University could be proud of the likes of Francisca Abatsong (-63kg), Ornella Zita Biami (-70kg) and Brenda Ngansop (+78kg) who all won gold in the women’s category. 
In the men’s category, the University of Yaounde I could comfortably state that they are lucky to have Julien Tombou who won gold in the +100kg and men’s open. After the University of Yaounde I, the Siantou University Institute follows with four gold medals, one silver and two in bronze.
