MTN Elite One : Refereeing Still Wanting

Despite the success recorded in the organisation of the just-ended MTN Elite One Championship, one of the things that stakeholders may regret over is refereeing; which constitutes a major element in the success of any competition. In the course of the season, some decisions came under criticisms and in one way or the other influenced the outcomes of certain encounters. 
It is against this backdrop that the Central Commission of Referees resorted to the sanctioning of several referees perhaps to serve as warning to others to be more upright in the execution of their duties. Some were suspended for unprofessional behaviours during games they handled during the championship. In February 23, 2023, a communique of the Central Commission of Referees temporally suspended four referees and assistant referees of the MTN Elite One championship.
