Super : Supply Re-established

Fuel is available since yesterday in Douala, after few days of shortage.

 

The first ship transporting 13,000m3 of super fuel was received by Cameroon Petroleum Depot-SCDP for possible storage and distribution. After days of shortage of fuel in Douala and other towns, including Yaounde, Bafoussam and Bamenda, the population will, in the hours ahead, have fuel to fill their tanks and go about their normal daily activities.
The city of Douala was almost shutdown on Saturday and Sunday December 9-10, following the lack of fuel in fueling stations in the economic capital. Queues of cars including heavy duty trucks and commercial moto bikes blocked major roads, causing heavy traffic in most neighborhoods in Douala.
In a press briefing at the headquarters of the Cameroon Petroleum Depot-SCDP on Monday December 11, authorities said they had received 13,000m3 super fuel. Upon reception on Sunday, they said they embarked on the normal control and examinations before the distribution process. At press time, full tanks of fuel had already left for Yaounde and other parts of the country and Douala.
