Sports and Physical Education : Fruitful Projects Envisaged

The Multipurpose Sports Complex in Warda, Yaounde was the venue of the ceremony to present New Year wishes to the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi. The event was an opportunity for the workers of the Ministry to reflect in on the past year and plan ahead for the New Year.
Speaking during the occasion, Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi said the results achieved in 2023 in the field of sport and physical education deserves to be capitalised on and consolidated during 2024. He said the projects that challenge the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education this year include; consolidating the winning momentum of Cameroonian athletes at international sporting competitions, increased promotion and popularisation of physical activities among the various social strata, improving the teaching of physical education and sport in the education system, consolidating the implementation of the powers transferred to the municipalities as part of decentralization and the development of digital technology, in particular with the continuation of the overhaul of the MINSEP website, among others. 
Mouelle Kombi said the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education will also continue to support national sports federations, in particular by helping them to organise major sporting events with a view to honourable participation in international sporting competitions.
