The current club-situation of the experienced folks as well as injuries, cast a shadow of uncertainty though there are slight hopes.
The Cameroon national senior men’s football team is dealing with a significant crisis in its attacking department ahead of the two crucial AFCON qualifiers. A combination of ageing stars, uncertain club situations, and mounting injury concerns have cast a shadow over the team's forward line.
The heart of the problem lies with the team's experienced players. Captain Vincent Aboubakar, once a prolific striker, is facing an uncertain future at Turkish club Besiktas. The 32-year-old has not been active. Fellow veteran Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting is currently without a club, leaving his form and fitness questionable.
Adding to the team’s woes, promising young striker Faris Moumbagna has suffered a serious knee ligament injury at club that requires surgery. He picked the injury last Saturday in Olympique Marseilles opening Ligue 1 game. Reports say he might be away for at least the two next Lions’ fixtures due to the state of his injury. Another forward, Brice Moumi Ngamaleu, also picked up an injury, raising doubts about his availability for upcoming matches.
