FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup : Qualifiers Lionesses Into Third Round

They beat the Lucy of Ethiopia 1-0 during the return leg of the second round qualifier in Addis Ababa on Saturday March 15, 2025.


The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon have qualified for the third and last round of the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers. The girls of Coach Joseph Ndoko beat the Lucy of Ethiopia 1-0 during the return leg of the second round qualifier that took place at the Abebe Bikila Stadium in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Saturday March 15, 2025. After their 5-2 win over Ethiopia during the away leg, the U17 Lionesses of Cameroon secured their qualification with an aggregate score of 6-2. The lone goal of the competition was scored in the first half by Ange Tazanou of Cameroon. 
The victory once more proves their superiority and efficiency of the Cameroonians during the qualifying tournament. Last Saturday’s match was not easy for the Lionesses. Despite the scorching heat, the Lionesses were able to brave the pressure from the Ethiopians and bring home victory. The U17 Lionesses went to Ethiopia with the determination to qualify for the third round. Prior to their departure for Addis Ababa, the team trained intensively at the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo under the supervision of the technical bench. As part of the training, the team played friendly matches with some local teams in the country to keep them abreast with the competition.
