Cocoa & Coffee Fertilizers: Government To Distribute Over 2,200 tons

The estimate for 2019 was made known during the fourth steering committee meeting of the Support Project for the Use of Fertilizers in the Cocoa and Coffee Sub-sectors (SPUF2C).
Government, through the Support Project for the Use of Fertilizers in the Cocoa and Coffee Sub-sectors (SPUF2C), intends to distribute some 2,242.25 tons of fertilizers this year to farmers in cocoa and coffee production zones across the country. The information was made known in Yaounde, Thursday January 3, 2019, during the fourth steering committee meeting of SPUF2C.
According to officials of SPUF2C, 402.8 tons of cocoa fertilizers will be shared to farmers, to cover an estimated 2,014 hectares of farmland. The allotment of fertilizers for coffee is estimated to be 1,215 tons for Robusta coffee, covering 6,075 hectares and 624.45 tons for Arabica coffee to fertilize 3,122.25 hectares. The Project team will also follow-up with the distribution of fertilizers bought in 2018 but which were not dispense to farmers for one reason or the other.
