U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers : Lionesses Qualify For Second Round

They beat Egypt 1-0 in the second leg qualifier that took place in Bafoussam on Saturday, January 18, 2025.


The women’s U17 team has qualified for the second round of the U17 women’s World Cup qualifiers. They beat Egypt 1-0 in the second leg qualifier that took place in Bafoussam on Saturday, January 18, 2025. The match was played at the Kouekong Omnisports Stadium with thousands of supporters who turned out to watch the encounter. After their second victory, the Lionesses continue their march towards the World Cup in their category. During the first leg, Cameroon beat Egypt 5-0 in Cairo and the second in Bafoussam 1-0 making an aggregate score of 6-0. In Bafoussam, Cameroon’s goal was scored by Ntsongo Nkoussa Divine just six minutes after kick off.
The Lionesses however did not astonish the public in Bafoussam with their performance on Saturday after their excellent show in Egypt. They were a mere shadow of themselves in the second game. Even Tazanou Ange who was highly awaited did not satisfy her fans. Tazanou Ange scored a hat-trick during the first leg in Egypt. The Egyptians however were more vigilant and cautious during the second leg. The Cameroonians applied the bare minimum against a team with a vengeance. It was a hard-fought victory.
