Cameroon-United States : Security Issues Examined

External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella received in audience Major General Garrick Harmon, US Command Director of Strategy, Engagement and Program for Africa on January 24, 2025.


Bilateral relations between Cameroon and the United States of America, were on January 24, 2025 reviewed at the Ministry of External Relations with the objective of further strengthening them, especially in the domain of security. This was during an audience the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella granted to Major General Garrick Harmon, US Command Director of Strategy, Engagement and Program for Africa on January 24, 2025.
Though the US senior military official did not issue a statement to the press, the audience sheet indicates that discussions centred on assessing ongoing US security cooperation activities in Cameroon, aspects of regional security with Cameroonian officials and examining the possibility of future bilateral and regional security cooperation initiatives. Accompanied to the audience by the United States Ambassador to Cameroon, Christopher John Lamora, the officials examined different possibilities of further intensifying security cooperation for the safety of persons and property.
